Acal Service Announcement

Preparing for London 2012

Date: 10th January 2012

Roads across London and around other Games venues are expected to be extremely busy during this year’s Olympic Games.

Traffic management is being implemented throughout London and is expected to have a significant effect on supply chain services within the capital.

The measures are expected to build slowly from mid-June and be fully effective from mid-July until mid-September.

This will include amendments to signal timings, dedicated ‘Games Lanes’, road and junction alterations, diversions and parking and loading restrictions.  The consequence of these measures means that on some key routes and at some locations deliveries will only be permitted between the hours of midnight and 6:00am.

The specific details of postal codes affected and possible service disruptions are due to be announced within the next 8-10 weeks by couriers.

In order to minimise any effects to our service Acal is working closely with all of its delivery partners to ensure that advanced contingency planning, support and response measures are in place.

As soon as this information has been released to Acal and analysed a further customer announcement detailing our plans will be circulated.

Thank you for your patience.
